Street Child Cricket - Team Mauritius 2019
On Wednesday 1st May 2019 we had a visit from team Mauritius. Team Mauritius are competing in the Street Child Cricket event this bank holiday weekend at Parker’s Piece.
Laura, the co-ordinator of the Street Child charity, came into school to introduce team Mauritius and their leaders to all our children. They performed a ‘Hello sunshine dance’ to the school and told us about their lives in Mauritius.
Reception and KS1 children decorated pebbles focusing on the saying ‘I am somebody’ and KS2 children created flags to take to the competition.
Team Mauritius and all the children at St Laurence had a wonderful afternoon learning about each other’s cultures and interests.
